Each year this Austrian lighting company commissions different designers to produce its annual report.
Zumtobel gave us total creative freedom, actively encouraging us to take creative and experimental risks.
We focused on using actual products and the lights themselves to create colour photograms, a process by which an object on photographic paper is exposed to light, creating overlapping shadows in different colours.

Our aim was to create an expression at once technical and emotive, whereby the technology is abstracted into something painterly. Fluorescent and bright inks were used selectively to bring a sense of brilliance and luminescence to the objects. We also die-cut holes through the pages, revealing light from the pages below.
